Our standard mortgage payment is 12.5% of joint take home pay, but we overpay so we actually spend 17.5%. ours is around 16% of £5400 at moment with ten years to run. We overpay £100 a month on top of that.
I wouldnt be comfortable with 35% either, although we have probably been there during our mortgage life time.
We save, but we do enjoy dining out and holidays.0
