Sports Bras? Cheap but decent quality?

Also a D, and I had a couple of non wired sports bras from Tesco. I liked them for tennis, but when I started running I soon realised they weren't up to that.
I bought a couple of Berlei running bras. They're normal looking underwired bras but they have a sort of melted reinforced bit on the lower half of the cup, stops the fabric stretching in that area, and I find they really do work! They also give a very normal shape, instead of the 'sausage shape' you can often get from other sports bras. Full price is £36 I think, but I saved a bit buying them on special offer from Sweatshop.0 -
I have the shock absorber running bras (ultimate run). They're not cheap, but they're good. I tend to keep an eye out for my size on offer. I've been advised that you should buy them bigger (in the band size) than your normal bra size. I'm guessing due to the fact that there's a lot of breathing involved and so your ribcage needs to expand.
Lesley74 - I've seen the berlei ones, and they do look more like bras than most sports bras, but I've been reluctant to try them in case they don't have enough support.0 -
From tomorrow Lidl have sports bras for a fiver: sizes 10-20...0

Greenbee, they have tons of support. They bottom half of the cup is reinforced, and not stretchy. They are a nice snug fit and keep everything in place very well! If you see one in a shop try it on and have a jump around the fitting room0

To some it is and to some it isn't (and they can ignore the guy). I'm female and see this as harmless, much like I might say to a guy i'd need to see his muscles etc0 -
I got one of mine from eBay. About £15ish and very good support, I'm also a DD cup and I run. It's big and it straps them down brilliantly
I also have a more expensive shock absorber and I'd say the cheaper one works just as well.
Be warned though, cheaper doesn't always mean better. I've had one from a supermarket before and it was terrible. More like a non-wired normal bra.
My general rule is, if it looks fairly big, it'll likely do the job. If it looks a bit flimsy, it probably will be.0 -

I bought one to try but found that it wasn't very supportive at all.0 -
I have a shock absorber one, best sports bras imo. Straps down my DD chest. Probably the most expensive piece of sports wear I own.
A jogger friend gave me a tip though, if you can't afford an expensive sports bra, wear 2 bras, one on top of the other. I tried it and it does work!No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
another one for the Lonsdale bras. they do ones according to cup size too 9rather than just SML). I bought 2 for £13 last week. (or £8.50 ea)0
