It's really not worth going out of your way for. I love a freebie as much as the next person but I didn't bother having anything. I saw a portion of strawberries and cream in a receptacle so small it looked like one of those glasses you get given a tablet in to swallow, a sip of soft drink and another table that looked like it might have been dips.

Obviously depends on what store you are in

They had biscuits in my local store, but not near the food. The tasting table was in the middle of women's clothing. They didn't have packets of huge biscuits on the tasting table to tempt you to buy, either.

At different times this week in my relatively small store I've sampled:

Salmon with potato salad
Blackberry mousse cake
Various crisps/savouries
Pork Pie with apple
Strawberry and cream
Victoria Sponge cupcake

And in a larger store:
Roast pulled pork in a baguette (massive sample!)
Pain au chocolat (ditto)
