agreed subject to valuation & buildings insurance

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question incase anyone has been in the same situation... my Natwest mortgage application was agreed a few days back, subject to valuation and buildings insurance of the property.

I actually applied for this mortgage through Countrywide, and they arranged to have a valuation carried out at the same time when I applied for the mortgage so the whole process would be quicker. From what the vendor's estate agent has told me, that valuation/survey was done on 18th July (i.e. literally a few days after application)... however Natwest are saying they STILL haven't received the valuation report from the surveyors (or maybe they have and I'm speaking to the wrong people?????)...

The Countrywide woman unfortunately is being less than helpful saying that it takes time and that Natwest will get the report eventually and amend the mortgage offer accordingly once they receive that... but it's been OVER 2 weeks since the valuation happened... surely it can't take THAT long! Who do I need to contact??!!

Oh also, regarding the mortgage offer being subject to valuation and buildings insurance, the property I'm buying is a leasehold flat where the buildings insurance is included in the monthly service charge... will this be included on the valuation report, or do I need to simply advise Natwest over the phone that this is the case so that they can add to the offer to say that that condition has been fulfilled?

Thanks~!
