Sanctions On The Work Programme

On the Work programme that lasts 16 weeks and is 3 days each week . How many days can you be absent before you are sanctioned ?

    That would depend on the reason for absence - without good reason any absence could lead to a sanction.

    The WP itself usually lasts for two years - is it a course you are on, or mandatory work activity?

    In that case your friend would need to explain the reason for their absence and the WP provider will decide whether to refer it to a JCP decision maker - only they can decide whether to sanction or not.

    How far in is your freind?. I only ask as if they are on their first week, they can leave without sanctions as, due to an EU ruling, they are considered to be undertaking the role voluntarily.

    Beyond this, they are considered to have accepted the course as being mandatory and would get a sanction.
