I have become self employed from 20th April, I am lone parent previously on jsa. At the moment I am earning 115.00 per week cleaning, a I have been awarded working tax credits and housing benefit although they have reduced hb by 60.00 per month and I havent been given council tax support, is this automatic or do I need to claim separaatly andam I entitled to a reduction, any help appreciated. Also should hb have been reduced?

Council Tax Support/Reduction needs to be claimed from your local council.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
