Afternoon all!
Firstly hope you all had a good bank holiday.
Secondly - Thanks Ally - I did my first park run on Saturday and really enjoyed it! Can't say I was very fast but I did beat the target I'd set myself!
Today I have/will:-
* Check bank
* Do washing up (much more MSE when I do as OH repeatedly runs the hot tap!)
* Continue using up free foundation
* Take mince out of freezer
* Take lunch to work
* Go through TCB when booking train tickets for boss
* Dinner from stores
* Make 2x cottage pies - one for dinner tomorrow and one for the freezer
* Change bedding tonight ready to wash before work in the morning
* Sort out clothes that have made it out of the washing machine but not quite into the drawers!
* Find out paperwork re energy switch to check when that finalises
That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you're all having a good day!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)0 -
Evening all
Is it nearly the weekend yet? Lol
I cracked at work today and got a bag of crisps from the vending machine whoops. However, breakfast and lunch we brought in with me from home. Dinner is leftovers from tonight.
Yesterday we managed to get out for the DS2 had been ill over the weekend. Spend some money whilst put but we had fun so I don't mind
Thinking of boiled egg salad for lunch tomorrow as I need to kick my weight into touch. Not sure in breakfast though - I don't fancy porridge and don't get up early enough to make a cooked breakfast. I could take beans into work and maybe pretend that ham is lean bacon?? I've never mastered the art of microwaved poached eggs either - much to the amusement of colleagues who would chuckle when the eggs exploded and I'd be breakfastless while cleaning out the microwave, lolApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Shortie - my mother has been trying to perfect the poached egg of recent, it's really becoming an on-going joke, I'll look forward to telling her she is not alone!
Went in to work today on the back of being ill all weekend as I'm still in my probationary period and didn't want to call in sick although I have been there a few months now. However 3 trips to the toilet to spew this morning meant I was sent home anyway - hopefully they see that I am genuinely Ill and not chancing my luck!
Anyway, I've had a relatively quiet day in bed.
Have checked finances and credit care payment and made a tiny overpayment on it.
Fought the urge to go and buy more food from the shop and made a mix-mash dinner instead so saved money there.
Also signed up for Park Run in the hope that I'll be better for this Saturday's run (Strathclyde Park so if any of you run it I'll see you there!)
Currently sitting watching Peppa Pig with my wee girl considering a run later as I'm feeling slightly better!
Take care,

Evening all
Been away for the weekend, but camping in a relative's field, so not much spent. Had to come home early as our old dog really wasn't copingIn fact I thought at one point we would have to take her to be pts, but she rallied once we got her home. She is a bit weak(er) than she was, but seems happy enough and is eating ok. Just a matter of time really though - it is hard when they have been with you for so long
However, list for today;
Checked banks
Made a loaf in the BM
Made a rhubarb crumble and some lemon curd cakes
Walked into town for free exercise and fuel saving
Small top up shop in the market and Mr S
Popped into sales unit to tidy up - no much sold, it will be a lean month this time I think
Defrosted and wiped out small freezer in the conservatory
All HM meals, using up leftovers and home grown bits
All washing done and dried outside on line
Watered plants in pots in the back garden - I will do the front tomorrow (I have a lot of pots)
OH unexpectedly hoovered downstairs and turned out two pairs of trousers that don't fit him any more, without being asked
Need to tackle the books for mine and OH's businesses, and get them to the accountant to look over and file tax assessment :eek: I dread this each year, but once I get to it, it is not so bad, and such a relief when it is done. I know it is only May, but can never understand people who leave it to the last minute :eek:
My main job for tomorrow I think!0 -
Thanks for the start La escocesa
Susan My mother would be horrified as well :rotfl:
We all had a very bad nights sleep last night in the end OH moved to the spare room so as not to disturb me and it was a couple of degrees cooler in there (heat triggers his one of his headache triggers). DS was still awake at 1am, I was awake on and off though out the night and when I went to the toilet at about 4 am I couldn't believe how light it was. DD woke in the night and joined me asking where Daddy was, she eventually went back to sleep after masses of wriggling and when OH left for work this morning at 5.15 am she woke up again, thankfully she dropped back of quiet quickly. Eventually me and the children got up at 10 am. I so hope we all sleep better tonight.
Today I have:

Hi all
I managed to get toothpaste all down myself this morning and didnt realise until I got to work. It wouldnt sponge off properly so thats a clean skirt or trousers tomorrow when the same skirt would have done twice. Not very MSE.
I was planning on getting some paperwork done this afternoon, I have a tax return to submit too, but it all went pear-shaped.
I did manage to fill in a form for DS which I was putting off and have sent a couple of e-mails that were necessary.
Chicken pie for tea, tomorrow nights tea done too as the beef needed cooking. Washing dried on the line, all spreadsheets up to date. Have gone over budget on groceries by a few £s but nothing disastrous.
Oh and Baileys thanks for the reminder. Must renew DSs library book!0 -
