Too Young To Get A Job

Can someone please help. My girlfriend`s son has another year in school due to the date that he was born as most of his mates have left. This means he cannot get a job but a letter arrived this morning saying her child benefits or whatever she got for him would be stopped. How is he supposed to live or my girlfriend for that matter. Too young to get a job but jobcentre are stopping girlfriend`s money and my girlfriend does not get much money as it is. I cannot remember the exact date of his birthday but I think you all know what I mean. My girldfriend has been to the jobcentre this morning and has been told basically tough we don`t care. Can someone please advisewhat to do. Thanks.

If he is in full time education child benefit should still be in payment which means all the other child related benefits are also paid - don't panic!

After a lot of phoning around in the jobcentre, they admitted after about 2 hours that they had got it wrong and everything is now sorted, but thanks to everyone for the replies.
