LTD Company and PAYE

Hi guys!

Just asking for someone else - If they were to set up a LTD company do they NEED to also set up PAYE with HMRC in order to pay themselves (and anyone else) or can they pay themselves in another manner?

I know they can take a dividend each year but how does the normal salary work?

Thanks guys!!

If you pay "Salary", you must set up PAYE with HMRC, and account month-to-month for amounts due.

AFAIK, the only other option (now) is to set the PAYE account to a permanent zero-return, and take the Dividend at year end instead.

I would have thought you can take expenses monthly in either case, but IANAA (I am not an Accountant).
