Tip that might be useful. If the pavements are dry/drying, your washing will dry no matter how damp you think it is outside

Although I check the weather forecast the night I put my washing in the machine, occasionally it lets me down, and I wake up to rain.

In view of this I tell my machine not to do the final spin. (The clothes just sit in the final rinse water.) Then I might leave the clothes 24 hours before spinning when we have a nicer day.

I put my clothes on an airer which goes outside if it's dry otherwise it sits in the dining room or spare room. I am guilty of drying the odd thing on rads but know it's not good to do so try an avoid it.

My cousin shuffles the drying rack between the patio & an abandoned greenhouse.
I *adore* the scratchy bath towels, but coz takes them for a spin at the launderette to soften them.

Spin dryer and open windows. If you have windows open at the front and back of the house with the doors open you'll get a nice draught/throughflow of air.
This will help with drying, and reduce risk of damp.
It's what I did when I lived in a house with no garden.
Cannot stress enough the importance of fresh air to prevent moisture building up in house, and ultimately mould/damp.
The spin dryer definitely speeds up the drying process as it spins at a much higher speed than the washing machine and the vertical drum improves the centrifuge effect of drawing water out. I've managed to get nearly a litre of water out of some loads.
