Any thoughts/recommendations on what might be the fastest 4 slice toaster available? I have a Breville and it is just sooo.....sloooooow, even with only one or two slices in.
It's only a couple of years old - but I'm fed-up with the long wait !

I must admit we have never owed a toaster, I can't see the point when we have a grill.
I'm sure it doesn't take very long under the grill.

A lot longer than two minutes! probably nearer 5.....even then, I have to sometimes stick it back in. Thinking I'm going to get myself a Dualit. Thanks!
We have an electric grill, which takes a few minutes to heat up, then you have to stand over it to turn the toast....no thanks, not any more.0 -
I read somewhere that the numbers on a toaster setting relate to how long the toast stays down for ( have only tested it once and it seemed to follow for ours) On that basis in theory a '2' on any machine would take 2 minutes, the variant would be how fiercely it toasted for those 2 mins. How well done you like your toast will also have a bearing, what is your preference?0

I would like it well done - but because it's so slow on even the highest setting (6), I end up having it an insipid pale colour.....not even golden!
Maazarati2000 - if you're right, it should be taking 6 mins......is that the norm??0
