Hi,
I put an offer in on a property today thinking that I had my mortgage sorted, but unfortunately it's lapsed and I have to go through the process again.
The estate agent requires proof of funds before they will forward my offer onto the owner, but the first appointment I can get with my mortgage provide (Barclays) is in three weeks. Which isn't ideal.
I really don't want to lose this property so could anyone recommend a way to speed up the approval process please?
Thank you.

You haven't even started the mortgage application process yet.
Mortgage offers are made after you've found a property not before.0 -
You would have had a decision in principle...that is nowhere near having a mortgage offer. As thrugel says, an offer is only done after a property has been found and surveyed.
As for the fastest lender, there is no fastest. I did an application with Nationwide last month 3 days from application to offer. I used them again 2 weeks later and it took 4 working days just to look at the case before they asked for more documents. The fastest mortgage lender is the one you access through a mortgage broker.
Waiting 6 weeks for an appointment is a joke.
As an example, we could have a case running for you in 24 hours.I am a Mortgage Broker

Get yourself an independent whole of market mortgage broker who is not based in an estate agent.0
