Dont worry about it being on your credit report, it will always get disclosed to lenders if not at application stage then at legals.

How long have you been discharged?
How much is your deposit (as a percentage of the purchase price)?

There are a few lenders who will consider it once you have been discharged 3 years and at normal rates. But I think its worth you getting your credit reports over to a broker.

  • 3 years discharged may 16th. Seeing a well recommended broker today. Credit reports clean, 15% deposit, 1credit card (vanquis) that's been built up from a £250 limit to £2250 and gets paid off in full each month. No overdraft, no debt.

I was hoping someone would of actually had some luck at three years or more discharged.

    Have you arranged for anyone?

3 years from discharge is the minimum time to get an offer from a mainstream lender.

Sounds like your timing is just about right.

  • If I'm not too devastated I'll post my progress later. Thanks for the replies
  • 3years after Br I could of gone for a mortgage with a 10% deposit.
I have a credit card with which gets paid off in full each month, all my credit files are clean, no overdraft and a clean credit file since Br. Been in the same job over a decade and well paid.
The broker thought I'd have a better chance with a 15% deposit so that's what I'm waiting for.
There is light at the end of the tunnel!
