To celebrate the launch of ‘The Walker', BritFilms have managed to lay their grubby hands on two of the film’s posters, signed by the film's writer and director, Paul Schrader. Known for writing ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘American Gigolo’ (which he also directed) and ‘Light Sleeper’, Schrader also wrote the screenplay for ‘Raging Bull’.
He's been working in Hollywood for over 30 years, bringing to life numerous edgy characters who are often outsiders and self-destructive but always emotionally real. ‘The Walker’ completes what he describes as the fourth and final part in a series of films that describes the male psyche as it grows through life.
He explains: “I have this character in mind who is a kind of drifter, a loner and a peeper, who is outside, but looking in on other people’s lives and can’t quite find a life of his own. When he was twenty he was angry, he was a taxi driver. When he was thirty, he was a narcissistic gigolo. When he was forty he was anxious, a drug dealer and a light sleeper. Now he’s fifty, and he’s a superficial society walker. They’re not connected that directly, but there’s something that drifts through them that is constant.”

If you sign up for their newsletter, they mention upcoming competitions in a weekly email. So far, I haven't been spammed so I don't think they sell my email address to anyone else!
