Hi CQ, I haved a account passed to iQar from the Halifax. They used to be Legal and trade but changed there trading name around 3 months back.

Personally Ive found them quite helpful if you are upfront with them and send them the details they request. I refused to pay by the giro slips they sent me through the post and set up a standing order each month as its more convenient.

Are you having any problems then?

  • Hi crown,

I was having weird phone calls from them all week.Wanting me to give my personal details to them, with out me knowing who they where etc?

But recieved a letter from them today, saying one of my creditors NEXT have passed me to them. They are wanting the full amount etc.. and that they will send someone round to collect?

Have informed Payplan ,i'm waiting for their reply.

    I'm totally bricking it.

DCA have no more power than Next, you treat them exactly as you would have next tell them your circumstances your budget and your offer of payment. Honestly DCA are usually quicker to accept payments it is a step in the right direction to getting them all paid off!

They are nothing to do with baliffs! Just companies that make money buying say a debt off next for £1000 for about £300.

Most the trouble you see on here about DCA is when people are ignoring debts and not telling them circumstances and offering payments, keep a dialogue up by letter if you wish and they are on the whole fine.
  • Many thanks Rayday,

You have put my mind at rest.I have been in touch with payplan, they have passed on my details to them explaining that i'm on a DMP etc..

Have also sent a letter to them ,so i have proof of me dealing with them.

Hi Again, I second what RD says, As long as you stay in contact and are making payments each month they should be fine. This is one account I have were im paying them £1 a month andapart from the odd letter all is ok with them ;)
