Are you losing weight at the minute? And if not, are you being completely honest with yourself about your diet?

I know that I can delude myself very easily and pretend I'm eating a lot better than I am. MyFitnessPal is indeed a very good way of making sure that I am not cheating on myself. And if I use it and log everything honestly, I lose weight.

The best things I find to lose weight are the following:
    • Eating higher protein and lower carb as a general rule - which doesn't mean not eating vegetables, but avoiding bread, pasta etc most of the time
    • Avoiding sugar - ie anything that tastes sweet
    • Avoiding diet foods - all that low fat rubbish
    • Avoiding processed foods where possible
    • Not overly worrying about fat content in diet where it's good fat
    • Getting some exercise though this isn't critical and is more important to get myself in the right mindset than anything
I've lost about four stone and regained one of them, but settled at a healthy 10 - 10.7 stone weight. It is do-able!

That would mean spending out money on a decent sports bra as I am well endowed and new trainers.

I don't have the budget for either at the moment.

Have you got a ruck sack?

walk fast with some a little weight (eg kettleball) in it.
The extra weight will require mean you burn more kcals on your walk.

Instead of this you can use your bike if cycling fast does not need a sports bra

Get a gold 2 meter thera band from ebay for about £13. Use this for resistance exercise/ ie weight training. Dont worry you wont start bulking up unless you eat loads of calories. Look on youtube for ideas you need look at resistance band exercises.

Resistance or weight training will help you lose weight quicker. Just building a litte extra muscle means you are burning more calories at rest.

Also try and break your food intake up so you eat more regularly through out the day. So instead of 3 meals a day try and eat the same amount but over 5 meals a day.
This keeps your metabolic rate ticking over and thus you burn more calories.

Also look at youtube for high intensity interval training (hiit), there will be a few using a kettle ball.
Its a very intensive way of training but proven to give effective results far more than say a long run.

    Well done!

You can do some other exercise for sure. But the bottom line is that food is key to weight loss. Exercise is certainly good for a range of other reasons but it's a very small part of the weight loss picture imho.

I do know that exercise is about 20% of weight loss. I read the book the diet trap very interesting what is said in it.

And I do know that abs (like I will ever have any :rotfl:) are made in the kitchen and not the gym.

I would like to get rid of my wobbly bits LOL!!!!

Calley, sounds like you are doing well. I agree with most of what's said above.
My two pennyworth... Try to eat clean food. Don't eat processed food. Give up sugar, this is harder than it sounds and not eating processed food makes it easier. So just eat meat and veg, cook from scratch, doesn't have to be elaborate, I eat lots of chicken and salad or veg.
I limit fruit, get all my vits and fibre from veg, I also (try) to limit booze to special occasions.
A treat for me is natural yoghurt and berries!!!!

Forgot to say, I eat fairly low carb, so I try to eat no wheat, just the occasional potato or starchy veg.
Milk is carb, so I try to limit it. Hard though as I love a latte, but trying to do without.
