Consessionary purchase buy to let

Options
Would it be possible to buy a property from a family member at a discounted price using the discount as a deposit (or towards the deposit) to rent the property out? It is a buy to let now with a tenant in situ.

The family member needs to sell the property ASAP for financial reasons.

Comments

  • Very limited opportunities here (if any).

We have done a small number of concessionary sales to BTL (no tenant) - and they were very limited in options - not sure what current tenant will do to the equation.

Definitely a broker case - any competent broker will get the options sorted (even if zero) very quickly.

  • Further thought - selling undervalue when creditors will/may suffer opens another 'bag of worms'.

I repeat the suggestion to take professional advice - make sure they are experienced (they may not be able to formally advise on the above but will appreciate the issues and guide you appropriately)
