Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how a debt colelction agency who have bought the debt should be recording with the credit reference agencies?
I have two which have been bought and they are both being shown differently.
The first one is being shown with a default each month (red marker) and the other suggests I am on an arrangement to pay with a green marker.
Please let me have your advise and I can then contact whichever is incorrect

A debt having been passed to a debt collection agency is by itself an indicator of the debtor having defaulted on the terms of the agreement.
So it should always show as a default, and the absolute latest date that default should be registered would be the date the debt was sold to the debt collection agency (but often should be well before that date).
In both cases is it the debt collectors reporting to the credit reference agencies (sometimes debts are passed to debt collectors but the original creditor continues to report the account on their behalf).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
