Can the lender pull out after the solicitor received the mortgage offered

Options
I'm so worried as I got the phone call from halifax yesterday re: my mortgage offerd could be invalid. From the start I been straight forward with the give the lender all the fact. And now they had an issue with the way I get paid. What happened is that "Barking & Dagenham" council had made the carer that was employed by the council redundant. Now they brought in a new thing called "PA" which I'm one of them. This way the council don't have to pay no holiday pay or have any responsibility to the employees. So the elderly that I looking after are my employer's some have been diagnosed with dementia!! I did explain to the bank from beginning and yet they still send the employment ref to the company that dealing with my wages only. Now we paid all the fee out and they said that they have an issue with the way I get paid I never have any bankruptcy my credit is excellent. I feel like I'm being discriminated against!!! And to top it all we have to cancel our holiday due to buying this house.( which we already lost the money on) I have a 7 months old baby who we book the trip for her to see her family who lives overseas for the first time now it's breaking 80s years old great grandparents and I'm might not be able to get the mortgage. Can the bank do this?

If Halifax have been told by your Employer that there is a problem with your employment yes they can take back their offer.

This should be a simple as finding out who gave Halifax your employers reference and have them send a new one with the correct information, from the correct source.

If you are using a broker - they can sort this for you.

If not I am afraid you are on your own (unless you pay a broker to assist you).

Yes. A lender can withdraw an offer right upto completion.

Where a service user is in receipt of direct payments, the person is your employer, not the social services department which pays the payments to the service user.

It's one of the pitfalls of the system. How many service users want to be an employer?

Thank for all your replies I have been paid by 8 different employees each months due to hours here and there so to make the money I need at least 7-8 employers I paid all the tax on each one of them and I do have all my p60 but the bank said that they can't use p60 so I'm very confused x

    Are you self-employed?

If you are receiving your pay gross and are paying your own tax and NI you are not an employee. This means you will file your tax return using Self Assessment and will need at least a year's income (more likely two) before you will qualify for a mortgage.

Did you seek advice from a broker, or an advisor in the lender's branch?

We are local to the OP and seen a few similar cases with the same specific details.

Halifax are going to want to see the last 52 payslips per cared for person I am afraid. I appreciate this is likely to be over 400 payslips.

These will be the figures they use.

I do not think the employer is going to get the reference right.

    Good luck

Hi I'm self employed the government paid the money into a pot of funds into a non profit company and the company sorted out all the PA tax and NI. We still get the holidays and stuatory sick pay but it's just through the company but this payroll company is not my employer.
Thank u Dave I got to see the bank manager today so fingers crossed she asked to see my 3 months payslips before I go off on maternity x
