May be a struggle to read a bunch of 8 year olds the entirety of Lord of the Rings in 15 minutes.

Do you know what topic they are doing? As then you may be able to tie it in to that? Do you have to bring the book in? Could you ask to look at the schools books? For instance ORT stage 12-13 books might be suitable and may be readable in that time.

Does it have to be a full story? Personally in order to aid the discussion would be good not to be full story as then can ask what they expect to happen next and why.

Thank you for all the replies, I have bought a book of Aseops Fables. I think they may be a little young for year four but I'm hoping to be able to open it up for discussion.

If any one knows any similar type of books maybe a bit older and slightly longer.? Atm thinking of reading two stories with two discussions.

Thank you for all your help some fab ideas.

I did originally buy the twits but as the book is longer than 15 min I thought better to play it safe.

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs is popular, or find out what their theme is and pick something linked.
