Delays in forwarding 2015 civil service pension statement

Mycsp say the home office are delaying indefinitely the publication of 2015 civil service pension statement (ie the projected forecast of a members' pension which is the classic in my case).

I'm buying a house and the bank needs the statement before confirming the mortgage. 8 house chain about to collapse in 3 weeks and after numerous phone calls and emails no-one can help.

Any inside knowledge here? No departments can even give me an ETA for the statement.

I have a deferred civil service pension and was expecting a pension statement in January, around my birthday but it didn't turn up. I rang and was told that all deferred pension statements were being sent in April. That didn't happen either. I rang again last week, the statement is on it's way soon but I'm not holding my breath. Sorry I can't be of more help, although you can ring and ask them what your pension amount is as of now. Perhaps tape the conversation and with a copy of your last pension statement that may be sufficient? Hope that helps, good luck.

    Hi

While there is/was a need for employers to provide a statement to members so that they could calculate their HMRC returns by September each year for submission before January the following year.

However in place of an Annual Benefit Statement you are entitled to the equivalent information to complete your tax return.

So ask and say you need this Statutory Information for HMRC as it is ....

It is a member‟s responsibility to ensure that any annual allowance tax charges are worked out, declared and paid in time. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) rules require that members who are over the Annual Allowance and who have tax to pay must do so via self assessment, or via the Scheme Pays process if they meet the criteria.

Information you need to use these calculators

The results are based on the information that you put into the calculator so it's important that you enter accurate information. If you use estimated figures the results will be incorrect.
You need to know your pension input amount for every tax year that you're using, before you can work out if you have any annual allowance that you can carry forward. The best way to get this information is to ask your pension scheme administrator to supply it. If you have savings in more than one scheme you'll need to get this information from each pension provider or scheme administrator.

Information you need to use the calculator

If you're in a final salary scheme
    You'll need the following information:
    • the end date of the pension input period - see link below for more guidance on pension input periods
    • your pensionable salary annual amount at the pension input period end date
    • your pension scheme accrual rate
    • the number of years and months in your pension scheme at the pension input period end date - this is usually the same as your years of employment
    • your lump sum factor - this only applies if your pension includes a separate lump sum payment as part of your pension pot
