Debate House Prices

Obviously no medical person would suggest that young doctors are discouraged from being GP because the pay of hospital consultants can exceed 200,000
and of course little comment is made of the factor that 50% of new doctors are female who will spend most of their life working parttime0 -
Not sure if its been mentioned but a major issue here is the restrictions on drivers hours under EU regs. The regs were written around a 5 day working week with a 45 hour rest at the end. This lends itself to working Mon - Fri. We would need a change in drivers hours regs or a major change to haulage industry. I.e an extra 20% drivers (already a shortage) plus drivers who are willing to work shifts - which again IME is harder to find as time goes on.0
