Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website to fund a project you own - not a source of income.ally.0

Everything on Kickstarter has to be a project as per their rules.
It is also a community where you have to provide something in return - for instance they sell art for $1 , they ask for cash and in return they send the item to backers. (but they also incur costs to produce that art.)
So it is not a place where people ask $1 from everyone to earn some holiday money.
There are costs involved with fulfillment of the product, if you make a profit it is taxable and you may incorrectly assume your costs and therefore make a loss.
If you want to earn extra cash through your crafts, art etc, I'd suggest to use likes of Etsy.ally.0 -
Hello DeafLeopard,
Most of the time what seems like “extra” money isn’t additional in any way. Ten times the funding regularly means ten times the backers. Kickstarter is not as a "crowdfunding" platform but rather all the more as a, Pre-order online shop for must-be created and-some of the time even be proven items with a no-return-and-very-unlikely discount policy.
Thanks

If you have a an idea or a prototype, it can help you get your idea off your ground. The idea is if other people like your idea, they will help you fund it. The hard part is getting an awesome idea
