Mobile phone upgrade before completion?

Not sure whether this is a silly question but we have recently received our mortgage offer but as the property is a new build, it will
not be ready for another month or so. I am due an upgrade with O2 on an existing contract, will it be a problem if I take advantage of this before completion?

Is it urgent? Really? Can it not like wait a month?

A new phone or a new house. I know what i'd rather have. It'd probably be have no impact, but what is the point in the risk for something so frivolous.

My phone was damaged months ago. I was just asking whether it'd have any impact. This forum is full of sarcastic unhelpful replies....

Doubt that a change of phone contract is going to change a lenders view of you.

An upgrade with your current provider doesn't involve a new credit account so I can't see how this would be of any significance to your mortgage application. I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's an upgrade for the same monthly amount then it won't show any different on your account. You could ask O2 if there is a credit search done on upgrade. They do report your account each month

    Be careful with o2.

Your contract may appear as a loan on your credit report. This is something I was caught out with on a clients application last year, thankfully it did not make a difference as affordability was fine but I did get asked why I had not disclosed a loan.

Thank you for the advice. I think I'll wait until after completion just to be on the safe side. Is there any set period of time after completion before I can apply?

Not so sarcastic and unhelpful then!

Milliseconds after completion will be fine.
