New comps - email alerts by keyword

(posted this in another thread this morning - figured I'd put it here so more people may see it)

I'd like to share my personal method which has greatly reduced the time taken to find comps that are relevant to me.

Now I just get emails when new threads are posted against certain key words in either the thread title or first post contents.

I use the free service https://blogtrottr.com

to do this you need the comp forum RSS feed: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=72://

you can then add filters e.g. 'send me' updates that match 'any' of the following rules

some examples of my key words: ITV, issue, mag daily, ipad etc

example image [i found using 'hourly poll' setting the best which is above this]

I also have gmail set to filter these to a label. I hope some people find this useful!
