in Gone off!
In the International aisle at Tescos today mix and match get 4 tins for a quid of chopped toms/chickpeas and others I normally pay 39p each for chickpeas so a good deal! Also in the reduced area Ipswich Copdock lots of choc cookies in a green box labelled 50p but scans at 25P

Napolina tinned tomato's (the gold standard?) are currently half price @ 50p a tin personally I'd say that was a better deal in terms of quality and taste.0

how can 50p be better than 25p? also many international items better quality than ours!! used the toms yesterday and tasted great! This is a bargain forum after all!0

At the time of posting, ASDA also still have a "4 for £1.00" offer on KTC brand tinned tomatoes & various beans. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Napolina are better quality, much thicker juice.
I have a target price of 25p per tin and was gutted recently when I ran out and paid £1 for 3 tins!!
But, well stocked up now and I found the Heinz offer at Asda good - 4 tins for 98p - both chopped and plum tomatoes. used some today to make a spag bol. Sainsbury's sometimes have their cartons of chopped tomatoes (some with garlic, basil, olive oil etc) for 30p and they are good.

Cost isn't necessarily the only criteria.
Things like personal preference, quality and nutritional information all play a part in deciding what to buy.
It's all about getting the best price for the things you personally want to buy, not just blindly choosing the cheapest.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Simple reason for this - supermarkets are ramping up for Ramadam. Look out for good prices on large bags of dried fruits and nutsValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I used some Tesco tinned chopped tomatoes the other day and I was very pleasantly surprised. The juice was really thick and the tomatoes full of flavour and not too acidic.0
