Do you owe someone 15k and just not recognise the current name?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,

I dont recall owing £15k to anyone and certainly have never heard the name Marlin Europe I Ltd! Only thing I can think of is that it may have been a shortfall on mortgage with my ex husband but definately never heard of them:-(

Ignore my previous comments for now!

At this point, then, this is the first you've heard of it and you don't even know if this is your debt. You need to be asking what it is, how it was calculated and how they apparently got a ccj without serving you court papers.

    I think a prove-it letter is appropriate.

Check your credit file and see if you can find a reference to the ccj - if it's there it will tell you which court was used and then you can contact them for the details of who claimed what, when and how.

If it turns out to be a mortgage shortfall debt, there is an excellent factsheet from National Debtline with a load of standard letters.

Sorry I missed an earlier post of yours - you can phone Northampton Court tomorrow to find out more details on this. They shoid have a record of the particulars of claim and to what address the papers were served.
