Thats the one ive got! It is brilliant but with some ice, ice cream, peas, and bread, the freezer bit is full. And Im not sure if I can actually freeze stuff in there. Will have to try as suggested upthread with water :)

As long as the freezer part is marked 4 stars then you can freeze fresh food in it. Anything less than 4 stars is only suitable for pre frozen shop bought food.

It seems you've managed without one until now so if the money would be better spent on something else I'm sure you'll do fine. There was even a guy on here a few weeks ago who was turning his fridge off so it obviously can be done.

I suppose part of the answer is in how much time you have and which shops you have available. It's often heard that people on their own suffer because food in SMs is sold in family packs. I mainly cook for two so find my freezer invaluable for splitting packs of meat, fish etc. Same with frozen veg where you just use what you want from a big bag. The bigger packs are usually (but not always) better value for money. But if you have a butcher and greengrocer nearby and can regularly buy fresh in small quantities then it won't matter to you so much.

The other way my freezer (well freezers as I have two under counter ones) comes into use is HM Ready Meals. Most recipes are for at least four people so I freeze part of it and that makes meals for days when I'm in a hurry or want to rein in the budget a bit. Also means I'm eating quality, HM food far better than many shop bought ready meals or take aways and we have a variety of meals each week instead of cooking a pot of something and eating it for days on end.

If you are likely to get gluts of fruit and veg which you cannot process at once, a freezer is a godsend.
If you stagger in, ravenous & wanting real food, having dishes you batch booked previously sat there smiling at you from the freezer is blissful.
If you can get astounding ys wins, but need to store them til you can plan to eat them, the freezer is your friend.
If you live some distance from the shops & just don't want to *have* to leave the house somedays (health snow & ice etc) then the freezer can help you.

If none of the above, heed your MS instincts & see how you carry on without!

Thank you all, im going to spend on something else or save it I think. Im reassured that my freezer compartment will be ok at freezing small amounts, and youre right if I've done without so far I can carry on. And even the tiny freezer would take up room I dont have here. I will buck up my ideas on meal planning and try harder to avoid the one pot all week rut ive got into.
