I am sorry to post this but after personally messaging another regular poster/forum member I have taken their advice to start a new thread.

I have read the Newbies thread and the READ THIS BEFORE YOU START A NEW THREAD ABOUT ROSSENDALES or DEBT RECOVERY PLUS! thread but an now thoroughly confused!

Now have a letter from DRP Ltd in and after reading the newbie sticky thread and the other threads am a little confused as to what to do now. Shall I write to them a denial of debt letter and then write to the PCN (Excel parking) and ask for a POPLA/IPC code? or should I ignore the scrupulous debt collection agency?

Basically parked in the car park (Cavendish Retail Park, Keighley) but when went to the machine didn't put the correct reg in and left at 1 minute past the ticket end time (think you have 10 minutes to get in and leave though?, not sure if you know?).

They have sent a PCN dated 10 days after the contravention with a photo going in and photo going out and asking to pay £60 for parking without displaying a valid ticket/permit (did display the permit but it has got the wrong bloody reg on it!! Ignored this letter. A further letter stating pay £100 for the same reason. Ignored. Now the DRP letter.

I appreciate any of you even giving me a response due to the pure stupidity of this case!

And coupon mad I apologise to you in particular after all the help and advice you have given in the past not just to me to but to others and I know how cross you will be about this Debt recovery letter thread. Stroma I appeal to your good nature...

and anyone else I have offended with this thread I am sorry :-(

Thank you for any help anyone can offer.

Regards

Thanking you in advance :-)

The options for DRP are: -

Ignore, or write a denial of debt letter and then ignore. Only you/your husband can decide which.

As for the PCN, appeal to the PPC anyway. You have nothing to lose.

But the PCN was in February? Still appeal?

Yes, that's what I would advise.

PoPLA is not an option but you can request the PPC cancel or tell you how you can appeal to the IPC. They will reject it but it is important to show willing to go to independant mediation should it ever get to court.

No need to make excuses - just appeal
but also edit your post to remove references to who may or may not have been the driver. They do trawl the forums to try to identify posters with cases.

Thank you Collies Carer. I have tried to access their website but it is not working unless you want to pay a PCN so will just write them a letter tomorrow.

    Many thanks all

In that case, send it first class from a Post Office and get a free proof of posting. Do NOT send it recorded delivery.

Complain to Cavendish Retail Park, Keighley because Excel won't uphold your appeal and the IAS is - allegedly - as useful as a chocolate teapot. If you complain to the retailers or management of the park you can get these things cancelled quite often.

I favour ignoring debt collectors, but that's just my own opinion.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Katybelle - pay attention to fruitcake's posting advice.

Many newbies think Recorded Delivery is the better posting option, but it is NOT.

PPC addressees know to refuse to sign and office lumpkins are similarly instructed.

So, am I right in thinking that Excel were under POPLA but now IAS because POPLA kept upholding people's appeals?

Member of the gym at the car park so they might be able to help do you think? A lot of people in the town have had issues with his place see link:

Thoughts are that the debt collectors cannot come knocking at the door without it going to court first, is this correct?

PPC are unlikely to take to court as is the extensive evidence on these forums...?

    Thoughts?

And thank you Coupon mad for your post, it is appreciated as I know the debt collector posts infuriate you!! :-)
