Any others to add?
A good long walk, along the pier (Avoid the costly rides, though!).
Laze on the beach. Wave motion sounds are quite soothing, though thermals are recommended, until at least summer!
Walk / cycle up to Devils Dyke. Take a picnic, look across the Weald (area between south / north downs). Not sure when the hang gliders appear..
