I know £30 a week is tight but we used to make it work, then we got lazy! For lunches I usually roast a load of veg on Sunday then mix it with cous cous and pesto and pot it up so no fuss during the week. My DH just forgets to take it with him. He'll eat whatever he's given!

Ah! A post-it note on the front door required then? :):)

That sounds like a good idea! Might try that this week as he spends anything between £5-10 a day on food

I stick a post it on the front door every night to remind my dh to get his lunch out of the fridge, saved a fortune over the years ;)

Well post it on the door this morning and he took his lunch! So that's some money saved for today anyway. Ended up going to Sainsbobs on Sat for a top up shop, it really is so expensive. £48.18 or around that (updated in my food budget post) which should get us through 2 weeks, maybe. I'm definitely sticking to Tesc0 or Ald! when it eventually opens.

In other news, went to boot camp on Saturday and whilst it was hard I managed to do a lot more than I thought I would but am still feeling it today. Going to try and go once a week so need to sort the SO tonight for this week's class.

Back to work today which was depressing but only 8 more days until another long weekend so that's keeping me going.

It's my birthday coming up so I'm thinking that I might treat myself to a beauty treatment or 2, it'd come out of my monthly spending budget but I so rarely spend on me that I thought it might be nice.

Hope everyone is well and Monday wasn't too bad!x

    Result!!!

I usually shop in Sainsberries, for two reasons. Nectar points for easyjet flights and easy parking. Our local Lid! Is in the town centre so the free car parking is used by all who aren't actually shopping there (insert angry face emoticon). I have seen people struggling back to their cars parked in Lid! With their sainsberries bags. S's is right at the top of the high street with the multi-story above that refunds the parking cost if you spend more than £15! can these people really not afford 60p to park, that will be refunded?

Sorry rant over.... good luck with the bootcamp. My DS2 is a personal trainer and has loads of equipment around the house he says I can use. mmmmm.... I like Nordic walking and swimming but wouldn't be adverse to a boot camp. :)

I normally do an online shop at Tesc0 which I like due to being able to see exactly how much you're spending and make amends before buying it. I always find I have a mini heart attack when I get to the till at Sainsbobs! The new Ald! isn't in town (but I drive past it) and has its own car park so hoping that it shouldn't be too difficult to park at. Also I went with DH which is always a mistake as he goes massively off list but he did pay so can't complain too much!

I liked the boot camp because there's someone telling you what to do and some structure, if I'm left to my own devices I get too lazy! Though after a quick hunt I can't find my card reader, think bubs has hidden it somewhere....

Having another moment today, it just feels like debt free is so far away and nothing is moving forward. Doesn't help that I spent £69 on a dress (got 3 weddings coming up so I'll wear it to 2 of them and then something I've already got for the third), about to spend £10 on a load of kids books (lots of upcoming birthday parties so they'll be presents so in the long run it is cheaper, promise!) I think I respond better to big gestures and regular repayments which I can't do currently. I'm 30 in 2 years and would love to be debt free by then but at the current figures that's not going to happen which just reinforces the cloud hanging over and the sense that's it's never ending.

I know that it's a marathon not a sprint and that my undoing before is treating it as a sprint and running out of energy, it's just hard to change a mindset.
