Birthday gifts for 9 year olds for less than £5 each?

We are on quite a tight budget at the moment so I try not to spend more than £5 on each present and he has 6 Birthday parties coming up (mostly boys).
It's quite hard trying to find good, fun toys/gifts for 9 year olds on this budget but I am sure it can be done. I am especially looking for anything that has good BOGOF offers (then can spend a bit more). Does anyone have any recommendations as I have already looked at places like Toys R' Us/Argos and most of their toys are more expensive or for younger kids.
Please give me ideas! Thank you.

I have found that the free Lego toys given out with the Daily Mail,
offer starts again on Saturday, are really useful for presents.
Even if you put something else with them they are really good value.hth0 -
Is 9 too old for Minions? If not...

And there's always lego.0 -
Not sure of the exact price but perhaps a mini football? Think they would be round about the £5 mark.0

The Book People often have decent books at good prices. You can buy some collections for as little as £9.99 for ten books, and there are plenty of individual books for less than a fiver. If you spend over £25, postage is free, but they sometimes have offers for free postage.0

Home Bargains usually have good brand name toys at much reduced prices.0

Tesco has some reduced toys, clubcard boost too at the moment.0

My mum used to hand me a fiver and let me find something if a friend had a birthday - I loved it! Worth considering.0
