Morning all!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday - didn't have a chance at work but was going to post last night to keep my promise to Bob. However... I broke down an hour away from home!!!! I was then told my RAC that my membership had expired but managed to call again and speak to someone sensible and yes whilst the membership number I gave them was my old one, it had been renewed! One guy turned up and told me he didn't have time to tow me so had to wait for another tow truck - so 4 hours it took until I got home!!!
Oh bless you Twiggy, what a horrible end to your day. It happened to me about a year ago. The clutch went in my car and me and my then 5 year old had to sit and wait for ages as the A A couldn't find us! Then we had to wait in a services with the man because he'd exceeded his driving time for that period. Finally we were towed back to London (from essex) at a huge cost and our car was toast anyway....you just feel so helpless. Hope today will be much better. X" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks Bob. This is something to do with the clutch/gearbox too as it just wouldn't go into gear!
Today is getting better as I thought I'd have to get two buses and mile work to work and same back home again - mum offered to take me in and boss has offered to take me home as she's going that way! And it will mean finishing at 4.30 instead of 5.30 which will slightly make up for my time yesterday as I was actually picking her son up when I broke down which is the only reason I was so far away from home!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -
Wearing my £7 to me charity shop John Lewis dress, unworn. Had several compliments already at work. Its a great thing - would have cost £100 new. And been sat in my wardrobe unworn. As I am pulling out stuff to sell on eBay that I never wear, am discovering some great finds all over again!
It is also payday tomorrow.
I had my bank statement through and checked it against my spends. Horrified myself again over the extra expenses of the house move this month. But they are paid now.
Organised a rise in my credit card limit. Huh? Not debt free behaviour shurely? No, but it looks like my move may go faster than I thought and the money I have coming to pay for stamp duty may not catch up with it. If that is so, I have a 0% transfer to bank account which costs 1.7% to do but is then free for rest of year. This makes it possible to do the move which will save me soooo many hundreds a month for a fixed sum of about £260/£300 depending.
Had four overdraft free days last month. Pathetic? Maybe. But it is four more than I've had for over a year. Next month I plan on a lot more.Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950
Debts down £12,700 high in Feb 2015, £10,700 April 15, £8830 May 15, £6776 June 15 , £5857 July 15 £6970 1.3.16

Hannah - oh no what a huge pain. We had to have the burglar alarm serviced in our house recently. Our landlord arranged for a generic firm to come and do it. Obviously they paid for that but if it's a choice between more 2 am starts and a quick service....It may be as simple as having a new battery put in at the mains. That's why ours was acting up.
Polly -I very much believe you have to celebrate your successes. So those 4 days are important. Next month do 5. Everyone has to start somewhere." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi all, havent got time to read properly, busy here.
Have sold some shoes on ebay, need to take them to the PO later. Doing OK with the food and general spending budgets. Wm going at the moment, will get that out on the line.
Had a bath last night rather than using the electric shower. Put my hair up this morning which also saved me time!
Got to move myself otherwise I will waste the afternoon on here!0 -
Hi everyone
Had a mixed day / past couple of days.
I have been incredibly tired and the doc has given me tablets and ibuprofen for my sore joints.
Went to the optician today and need new glasses, so went for the cheapest frames there and luckily they don't look bad.
Walked into town and to get little one from nursery, so no transport costs.
Tax Credits have sorted out the main problem, but I've still not got new paperwork through to set up a new claim, so still without money after 4 weeks now, and it will be at least another 1-2 months after I send back the paperwork, so must continue with the basic living.
Am using stuff up in the cupboards, fridge and freezer and had a really good meal planning session this last week and only spent £55 this week in Lidl, incuding toiletries etc for a family of 5. Used to spend £100+ in Morries or Tesc, then narrowed it significantly to £80 max in Lidl, and now I've got even better lol!
Sold a couple more bits on fb and ebay.
Woke the other day to find the heating on?! Temp dial was on 0, the programming box was at off and no-one had put it on, but no wonder it was warm, I thought it was a mild night! I have now turned all the radiators to 0 just to make sure - not sure what happened there!
Also trying to lose weight. Lose weight whilst on a budget!? It's egg, beans on toast tonight - our cheap night lol!
Enjoy your week everyone0 -
Morning all,
Wet windy & wild her this morning
Had an awful nights sleep, our burglar alarm went off at just after midnight and again at about 2.30am this morning. No sign of problems so thinking its maybe a faulty connection or something?? So I've just dug my file out from when we got it to give the company a ring to ask them to come and service it but there lines are dead, no web site anymore so it looks like they've gone out of business, not sure what to do now?? My dad came and decided to order a sensor that he thinks maybe the problem, was £1.25 from amaz0n (using vouchers) so hopefully that will solve the issue.
