Phone debt!

Help needed!
6 years ago a guy phoned my husband offering him a business phone. He said he'd think about it and the next day a parcel came which I signed for at the door and when he opened it, it was a phone. I took it straight down to the post office and sent it to the address on the letter 1st class recorded. A month later a bill came for £40. He phoned them and they said they will sort it out once got confirmation they received phone back. Months went by and heard nothing.. Then suddenly all these bills kept coming in and debt collection letters. We fought our case with each collection agency and they dropped it. Now it's been passed onto another one who have actually put it on his credit file (before hand it had never been on his file). Orange are saying they have no proof from us that we don't have the phone even though I've sent them copies of the receipt hundreds of times it feels! The debt agency are saying that is orange final answer and he has to pay it and the bad credit won't be off his file until he does pay! (now due over £1200!) no one listens to him when he phones! Were at out wits end. Anyone got any advice where to go now, he wants this sorted ASAP even if he has to take them to court but it's costly :-( sorry for long story xx

Hi,
No he doesn't have to pay it at all, Orange customer service are rubbish.
You should complain to the mobile communications ombudsman.

Write to the DCA tell them to wind there neck in, as you have passed the matter over to ombudsman services to deal with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
