Cold callers

Hobbling around the house earlier I heard a faint knock on the door. Intrigued I ventured on my crutches to see who was there...
Cold caller(CC for short):- good afternoon sir, we are in the area promoting a new government scheme whereby you can receive an income from generating electric via solar panels.
Me:- Oh really, do continue
CC:- the government will pay a FiT for energy generated from solar panels and we're knocking on doors to explain the potential income from having panels installed
Me:- Can I ask that you take a step back from the door and take a good long look at my roof
CC:- Oh I see you have panels installed already(you can't miss them(my WNW facing the road)), may I ask how big a system you have?
Me:- Of course, I have 6.5kWp installed over 3 rooves
CC:- But you are only allowed up to 4kWp for a domestic install
Me:- Not if you have permission from the local DNO
CC:- DNO....what's that?
Me:-.......sigh....drop shoulders!!!
Me:- I also have one of my systems fitted with solaredge to deal with shading from next door
CC:- Oh we don't fit panels on houses that have shading(really?)
At this point I'd had enough and told him to do one as he and his cronies were clearly reading from a script and didn't have the foggiest as to what they were trying to sell, I did give him a parting shot stating that I've just organised a 4kWp system for a mate at £4495 all in to which he retorted that there was no one who could do it that cheap.....sigh again
No wonder so many people frequent these boards if that's the calibre of reps out there trying to sell solar.
