I have recently left a job and I dont think I have recieved enough holiday pay. I started around the middle of September 2014 and so have worked for around 35 weeks doing a minimum of 18 hours a week. Anyone any idea how many hours I am roughly entitled to?
Thanks

How many weeks did you actually work after deducting Xmas holidays? How many days a week did you work?0

If you worked 35 weeks at 18 hours you would have acrued about 76 hours of leave obviously you need to deduct any holidays already taken including bank holidays if they fall on your work day to find your min entitlement.0

Very roughly
You are entitled to 5.6 weeks a year, including bank hols.
Therefore if you really DID work 35 weeks, you worked 67.3% of the year. You are entitled to 67.3% of 5.6 weeks, which would be 3.77 weeks.
You haven't provided enough information for anyone to calculate how long a 'week' is. 'A minimum of 18 hours'. Is the 18 hours contractual? Is anything over 18 hours paid at an overtime rate which may or may not include holiday pay or qualify for holiday entitlement?
PS - If you worked a regular 18 hours, you would have 'earned' just under 68 hours' leave according to my calculations, which go as follows.
35/52 = 67.3%
67.3% of 5.6 weeks (statutory hol entitlement) is 3.77 weeks
3.77 x 18 hours = 67.85 hours earned.
Perhaps your best way forward is to ask your employer how THEY have calculated your holiday pay!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Holiday year could make a big difference to what you are due.0

I was on a zero hour contract although every week i was usually doing 18 hours a week over 3 nights and no less, sometimes however I would do more hours at the same rate for example my last week I did 28 hours however this wasnt often. So was just working it out using 18 hours over 3 days a week to keep it abit simpler. I havent used any of my holiday pay. From what i can work out they have paid me about 33 hours holiday pay, from your replies this doesnt seem enough0

Holiday year? Without it no one can answer the question0

Yes, what, if anything, do the written particulars of employment say about a holiday year? If they are silent about it (and there is nothing in a staff handbook which may be contractual), then you would have a personal holiday year beginning on your first day of employment.
Common company holiday years are January to December and April to March. If your company had notified you of a holiday year ending in December or March then any holiday accrued but not taken up to the end of those months would be lost to you. (Though if you could show that during the relevant year you had requested holiday which had been denied to you then you might have a case.)0 -
Sorry but your calculation is flawed, the correct calculation would be 35/46.4 as you only work 46.4 weeks a year (if only getting the min entitlement)jobbingmusician wrote: »Very roughly

I disagree, since you clearly accrue holiday entitlement whilst you are on holiday, so all weeks of the year should be treated equally.
It is more likely that my calculation is wrong because the OP passed the end of a holiday year without taking his entitlement, and thus lost it for that year!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
You don't a acrue holiday whist on holiday, only when you are actually working so only fo 46.4 weeks ER yearjobbingmusician wrote: »I disagree, since you clearly accrue holiday entitlement whilst you are on holiday, so all weeks of the year should be treated equally.
