    hiya

I have a vague 'chore for each day' So Monday is visit bank (often get paid in cash or cheque); Tues is clean house downstairs; Wed is wash hair and clean upstairs; Thurs chill; Fri or Sat or Sun - clothes washing/ extra cleaning. Each day i try to do the dishes after my evening meal; do the bills as they come in AND file them (one touch paperwork is an actual Business Studies theory!!) dry dishes while AM kettle boils for breakfast; do 1/2 hr of yoga/physio exercises; try to do 1/2 hr in garden. Also always make my bed - even though its only me that sees it! LOL

Am currently trying to find a time to look at my e-mails each day. They keep building up!

I once bought an old book on how to manage your house - written for the new middle class ladies at the end of the Victorian ear. In it the advice was given that one should train all one's servants into good habits because 'good habits make all work light' At the time I laughed and thought - yep thats ok for the mistress of the house but I bet the poor little scullery maid blackleading the grate would not agree with the book. But actually I have had to eat my words. Habits do make the chores get done without one noticing!!
    Hope that amuses folk!

PS another advantage to having some kind of routine and good habits is that when somat more interesting comes along - one can dump housework and go and do it!! :-)

10,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
Probably the only habit I have is menu planning on a Sunday morning for the week ahead.
I have done this for over 50 years .I also, if I have to, peel the spuds for the coming week ahead, and put in water in a long tuppaware box in the fridge (change water daily ) save lots of time when you come home later than usual and don't fancy peeling a spud or two. This I started doing many years ago when I was a working Mum and for some reason have carried on:) semi-prepping veg saves time when your in a rush.
Shopping I do when I have at least 7-10 things on the list by my kettle in the kitchen, unless its really urgent(rarely happens though )Saves impulse buying, and I only ever use cash when shopping and adapt what I have indoors rather than going out for the odd bits (this saves cash as well )
Cleaning gets done when it needs doing and not on a specific day. If the suns shining I'd rather be out in it than dusting that's for sure
Accounts get done once a month and I visit the bank only once a moth to draw cash out.Bills are paid online as I hate queueing up if I can help it.I am not a shopping person as such, and would happily abstain from all shopping centres as much as possible.Too many people, and being pushed and shoved isn't my idea of fun.

Monday I change beds (mostly white) and towels (all white) and do a white wash. Hoover and dust upstairs. If holidays/days out fall on a Monday this all gets put off for another week.

Tuesday I hoover and dust downstairs. Wet mop hard floors and if I can be bothered I do the ironing.
Wednesday. Not a lot as I volunteer in a CS
Thursday. Not a lot as I meet a friend but we sometimes do the weeks shop
Friday. Hoover and dust where necessary
    Friday is my hobbies day
    Sunday. Baking and/or gardening
Every night before bed I tidy/plump cushions etc and clean cloakroom loo and washbasin.
I load dishwasher every night straight after dinner and OH empties it in the morning
Before I come downstairs in the morning I make bed, shower, clean shower/basin/upstairs loo
I probably do 2 white loads, 2 dark loads and 1 medium loads of washing every weeek
Any other cleaning gets done as and when the mood takes me.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
