I just saw this on UK Hot Deals and had to share here - I'm going to get one for my son who has been banging on about getting an iPhone so he can listen to music which I think is nuts for a 9 year old. This holds about 1000 songs and is durable, plus has an FM radio. For £9.99 i think thats a really good bargain plus it looks a bit like the old ipod mini i had years ago!

Cannot comment on this particular model - but I would think that is a fairly normal price for a budget mp3 player these days ?

Does it support playlists? My lads got some faux-shuffles which were admirably cheap but started at the beginning Every Single Time.

It's worth venturing into one of those dens of iniquity (Currys et alia) to ask, lest that tenner turn out torture, and worse, the children hold us responsible for their judgement!

In my experience these Chinese MP3 players are usually of satisfactory quality.

One issue is that the original firmware looks to have been designed and built about 15 years ago, and really isn't up to the standard of Apple & other premium brands.

If people are looking for simple MP3 players for kids or for use when jogging etc., then you can get them much smaller/cheaper than £9.99.

I would suggest using Ali Express rather than eBay, as the former operates a true escrow service for payments, to underwrite their quality and delivery guarantees.

The £2 one has no memory, or FM radio.
By the time you've added a memory card, it's closer to the same price :)

Most of this stuff comes from China.

So you can either wait for delivery yourself, or you can pay someone else to do it for you.

These are fiddly to use, a nightmare to set up and most importantly-do not last. Far better to mouse around friends and see who has got an old working iPod they don't need anymore....or just buy a cheapy from one of those second hand phone shops that do "unlocking" and "repairs" of phones, iPods....or buy the cheapest new one going at a supermarket/argos etc
