Can I complain and if so how?

Options
Hi,

We were due to exchange today but we weren't able to due to a response not being back in time from my buyers lender. The response came in at 4.55.
My buyers lender (a major high street uk bank) has made countless !!!! ups along the way including mis typing my buyers date of birth and having to start the application from scratch 7 weeks after it was originally submitted, and now today they have said that they have not yet released the mortgage funds that were requested last week for completion this Friday as they have lost the Title certificate - this is the third time they have lost it. So now they may not release the funds in time for Friday and I will then be screwed. Their !!!! ups have delayed the move by over a month already. I want to complain but not sure that I can as I am not directly their customer. Anyone any experience with this or ideas as to what I can do in terms of complaint?

Thanks!

You can complain to your buyer.

Your buyer can complain to their lender (if they want to).

... or you can just chill out and exchange tomorrow.

You cant complain about someone elses lender. You have no contract with them.

Your buyers could complain but that wont help you in any way.

Its only exchanging contracts, its not completing so it should not really delay anything in terms of completion, some lenders ask for 5 days to draw down on funds in which case it may delay completion if you were hoping to complete on friday but if your buyer tells the lenders your aiming for friday they can sometimes rush it through.

Assuming you mean complain and actually get something. No. Contracts have not yet been exchanged so no-one has broken the contract.
