Hi all,
This Diary is to chronicle my fianc! and my journey to DFW.
Approximately seven years ago our troubles began when we started to borrow just o pay rent due to shortfalls in financing and steadily built up cc debt. To be honest I wasn't really budgeting and when emergencies came up just put it on cc. About four years ago we started needing payday loans to cope and eventually things just spiralled.
We moved out and back to the parents whilst I looked for better pay prospects and suddenly got a job paying me £8000 more but was in central London so more costly to get to.
Due to personal circumstances we needed to move out as the parents and us couldn't get along (putting it mildly) and moved in to a horrendous houseshare which I struggled with as we had the most irresponsible housemates ever but it was all we could afford. We finally broke through and were able to afford a one bed flat to rent but as I am sure all have known before things happen and we had to move and my fianc! lost her job.
I am sure many have experienced these issues and what strikes me is how easy it is to just bury your head in the sand and just leave it but it was the death of my Aunt that has really made me hit back to start the journey to lose weight and debt.
The debt is circa £43000 and a using a DMP kindly being set up by Stepchange (formerly CCCS). It is really daunting but I am really intent on just making headway and setting a realistic target as we plan to put every spare penny to the debts and I really want to back what we owe.
The creditors have kindly frozen interest which does help massively. On we go....

Thanks Monz. I have to admit the first two weeks watching every penny like a hawk has made me realise how much we just used. Test today from step-change payments start 1/6/15. Things are looking up.:)0
