Savvy if you feel that this particular special interest is waning for you, then you should go with your instincts. It sounds to me like it's causing you to fret about things associated with it like your piles of collection lists and when that starts happening, it's not enjoyable for you any more.
You know yourself that how interested you become in a subject isn't something you really have control over. Neither is how long that subject stays interesting to you.

You will know if and when it's time to move onto something else. I guess the interest finds you rather than the other way around.

If you do move on, however, do spare a thought for poor old me. the interest in old game shows here isn't waning whatsoever. Its n full swing. In fact I've just this minute heard him disappearing upstairs saying 'Go on dollies, do your dealing' :rotfl:

    hug4.gif

Right, I'm back. I ate my tea much sooner than I usually do (not sure why).

No, I do still enjoy it - when I'm in M I'm not fretting at all (except when too many staff are in an aisle that I can no longer work very surreptitiously but that's part of the game and I simply have to miss that aisle for the moment and then come back to it - it's a minor thing although it does put me off the order in which I was going to do it, nothing too severe, although a little bit more irksome if I am already running late).

I've now got rid of all those piles of paper - they're now in the recycling bin and all I have now is the current list for me to check tomorrow (probably). I'd thought about chucking them this time two weeks ago - for all the little time that I ever consult them - but I've done it now - and now have a surface top of a drawer that's seen the light for the first time in two and a half years. I've even polished it - with some of my small number of SP Polish, used as fillers over the years (but it can get out of hand using them again and again and again) - although they are all in one cupboard - along with other cleaning stuff - so not too bad.

I do still enjoy it when I'm in M - it's more so just the time that it takes.

As for 'going with my instincts', I don't know what my instincts are saying on this. I don't think they're saying anything - you know I'm not intuitive and instinctive:rotfl:. So, I don't have any instinct one way or another on this - instead I just felt a bit waning again and that I should get rid of the stuff that I thought about doing a couple of weeks ago but didn't actually do it.

As I tossed the paper into the bin, I caught a notice that Satsumas/Clementines 600g were at £1 in M on 14th November 2012:rotfl:. So, they were much worse than what they are now - so I'm not sure that even this historical record is of any help - I think instead we know what "good" offer prices are and it's no use having historical info. to see if it has ever, at any point whatsoever, been cheaper as the info. didn't even show that. Although, from memory, I think Clementines 600g were once on £1 bogo'f' (50p each when buying two, so, a bit better than 69p). I could never put my hands straight on that info. if I didn't already remember it anyway. And I don't know what use it is holding a lot of information that's of no relevance or use to anyone in their normal life anyway.

As for 'the interest finding me', I suppose that's true - although I think it's more a problem for obsessive-compulsive, consumed by something that isn't liked, rather than for something you enjoy but, really, it's time to move on or, if not move on, turn the focus in favour of something else - although, if I didn't go to M, I'd probably just have a few more days than I do of 'doing not much' - get out Savvy!! - I know, I do get out but we'd just spend some of the days in instead of in M and not out on every one of them. Besides, it's not always money-saving. Me and someone else went one of the 2 for 1 Gardener's World places yesterday and paid about a fiver for both of us. However, it cost us about £40 in petrol to get to the gardens, which we would not have been going to otherwise (we've already been to places that are more nearby), so, all this 2 for 1 and offers, it's not really money-saving at all:(. Yet of course, without it, the answer would be to save money, stay in all the time and never visit any place at all, so clearly that's not the answer as it's better to be out (or at least seen as better to be out and more productive), especially on a nice summer's day. We did enjoy it - we wouldn't have gone otherwise - but... forget the idea that it was a money-saver:rotfl:.

Same with all these T days out - we've spent a fortune in travelling costs that we would not have incurred without the Days Out tickets!:rotfl: (And one of them was a maze place that is owned by Dobbies Garden Centre. But, forget the idea that it is T giving you anything by having to pay for you to attend the event - Dobbies is owned by T anyway so costs them nothing to admit you for [Strike]'free'/[/Strike]the cost of your shopping with T. You'll likely spend/buy things while in the maze centre, so they get money for it there:rotfl:!)

Ta for this - going to check the accounts tommorow to see how close we are.
I was thinking of putting the 2 free nights together but I am now thinking we might stand a better chance of upgrading with single nights.
Otherwise it will be Greggs breakfasts :)

We had subway for tea at about 10pm after the concert! :D

I was going to treat us to breakfast somewhere round Wembley before I found out we got upgraded, so definitely saved me some cash.

I think I was very lucky this time, stuff like that doesn't usually happen to me. I did think about paying to upgrade, it wasn't a massive amount when the email came through, either £25 or £40 (got those 2 figures in my head so it must be one of them! :rotfl:). That would have given us both access to the executive lounge, so had we been about the evening before between 6-8 for free canapes and alcohol/soft drinks, plus breakfast it would have been worth paying. Breakfast was £16 each if you paid on the day, or £12.50 if you paid when checking in, but free in the lounge. I decided not to pay because of not being about in the evening to take advantage.
