Just a warning that :mad::mad:Sains. - such an expensive store! - have now put the price up on the Carrots (to 60p:eek:, making them one of the most expensive) and the 335g Broccoli (to 50p:(). I've been cursing them late this afternoon:mad::mad: - horrid, horrid store:p - but fortunately I just managed to sneak in today. They were showing the lower prices before I went out. The Carrots as well - I gather 55p was the 'everyday price':p, but obviously not any longer:p:p:rotfl:. This looks like it's missed the afternoon update (judging by my shop being done after 3pm) - but, if you need to get in, they'll be a rush on Broccolis and Carrots packs in A tonight!:D I expect these to go up in price on comparisons tomorrow. Look how many items I have to buy to get N/A as they are so expensive on a lot of what they stock:mad:!
7 items (6 different) on your bill qualify for comparison
Sainsbury's

1 x ASDA Carrots (1Kg)£0.57£0.55
1 x ASDA Smartprice Still Water (2L)£0.17£0.20
1 x ASDA Smartprice Raspberry Swiss Roll£0.25N/A
2 x ASDA Power Scourers (6)£3.96£1.50
1 x ASDA Broccoli (335g)£0.49£0.45
1 x ASDA Smartprice Spaghetti Loops in Tomato Sauce (3...£0.16N/A
1 x ASDA Smartprice Mixed Vegetables (1Kg)£0.77£0.80
1 x ASDA Smartprice Clear Mints (250g)£0.50£0.50
1 x ASDA Smartprice Apples (500g)£0.79N/A
Comparison total (compared products only)£6.46£4.00
I have to get Spaghetti Loops specifically, as the 'ordinary' Spaghetti is 25p:eek: in S! Spag. Loops only does 'well' when S don't stock an equivalent! I wish they'd change their pack sizes out of range on much of their other range - could do with them all being N/A if they are going to insist on charging so much more. Live well for... whatever. Less (money in your pocket). I think the "S"P Apples is because of how expensive T currently are:rotfl:. Actually, no, I've miscalculated as T showing 81p:( - just so hard! I was going to get Strawberry Whip at 17p for an N/A vs S - I believe may be N/A across the board - but my store didn't stock and nowhere near trying to go to another store for such a small 'saving', so the water was an attempt to lose as little as possible, I could not be bothered with trying to weigh an N/A banana to 17p and didn't want to pick the SP Custard tin as I wasn't fully aware of what price S are (turns out they same as the water) and I felt they could be way dearer!! Surprised at how much I could have 'saved' by shopping at S and how they are not as expensive as I thought:rotfl::rotfl:.
And all this with a Sains. chief executive claiming that Sains. prices have "never been better"!!

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3074889/Asda-slashes-prices-supermarket-war-hots-Survey-reveals-branded-goods-5-cent-cheaper-major-rivals.html
(The last link actually not very good for A - says they are 5% cheaper - in other words, not the 10% cheaper that they 'guarantee' to be!)
Sains prices, relative to their rivals, have "never been better"?
An astonishing claim! I remember when, three, four years ago, Sains Basics were usually the same price as SP, T Eday and M Savers. Now, they are almost consistently more expensive!! No justification for me - SP, M Savers & T Eday Rice Pudding 15p - S Basics 25p! Salted Peanuts - A, T & M 48p, Sains. 70p. Cloths used to be 36p in A, T, M and S - they still are in A and T, but Sains 50p:eek:! (M have changed size but still are equivalent to 36p for 10.) The S Basics Gloves have crept up in price - I've been watching them as closely as they have been watching their competitors and putting their prices up. Were 24p, then 30p, now 35p! A are at 46p, but S are one pair (=two gloves) whereas A are two pairs (=four gloves) therefore, to get the same amount as A in S, would cost 70p:eek:!:p Never better indeed!:( Obviously a lot better for them! They are the same price as A on Bread and Cornflakes, but these are the few exceptions rather than the norm.
On the water, I may have ended up with 2p off 20p = 18p but then a further penny due to S bill ending in a "0" - it was not planned that way but just fortuitous! So, same as A price with no 10%. Lost about 2p vs T:rotfl::(.
I'm currently trying to put together an "Avs S" list, for the few items that don't lose vs S (I'm not talking about the expensive branded "Savvy buys" btw), obviously I will now delete the SP Apples:rotfl:, and no more Carrots packs or Broccoli now! SP Frozen Mixed Veg (yuck!:rotfl:), used to be vs M at 75p but M no longer having their equivalent so now having to compare against expensive Sains.! A's (and S's) opportunity to put prices up a bit.0 -
Max of 2 udi's (T's have a 2 for 3 offer which means 3 or more will come back N/A)
