My darling niece aged 14 has been taken into hospital because she has been having panic attacks related to school and exams. She is a very young year 10, not 15 until August and taking her first GCSE this year, as all pupils in her school take one a year early.
Don't know all the details yet, and think it must be more than just panic attacks, as they expect her to be there for at least two weeks
She has always been a high achiever who has enjoyed school and any sort of challenge.
I so hope this is a one off because I suffer from depression and anxiety and pray that she doesn't take after me.
It is very sad but being female and a high achiever increases the risk of anxiety/depression.
DS3 girlfriend has had depression and panic attacks for a few years, and she is becoming increasingly dependent on him (obv. SSM worries about this).
There is even talk (from her mum) of her not going to uni. Her father is not pleased, he has her going to one of the posh Universities. My suggestion was that she went to the local uni.... well that went down a storm!
I would rather like her to go away to uni, it is the natural order of things, and she will out grow her parents and him and he can stop being a crutch! (God I sound like a b*tch) I do like her, but really the whole family are rather looney....and controlling!Lol it was like something out of a comedy film First thought run second hide third clean up :T
Em I love you x:):)
