Because I rarely drink it, I don't tend to take any notice of wine related glitches... if it was my wedding, people would be getting a cup of tea!
When I saw my friend at the weekend, she was saying that she wanted x, y and z, and I was going ...repeatedly.... 'but the costs' and 'what about a marquee in a field' etc.
She nearly died when I told her the average costs of weddings, but when I got her to add the bits on her wish list she was over £10,000 then.... and had not really started. I could imagine her elderly parents raising equity on their house to pay for the wedding she wants, which is very sad.
I think if her friends and family all come together, they could have a lovely wedding for significantly less.
So I intend to give the wine for the wedding (with lots of help) as a wedding present, and possibly nappies as a present for the baby.
She is one of my bestest friends and has a very lovely kind heart.

Just jumping in and saw your post...
Has your friend joined all the baby related clubs on web site like cow & gate, hip, pampers, mothercare etc then when the baby is born elc, toys r us etc they usually email a code near birthdays for 10% off etc
Also mamas and papas, they used to send you a £5 voucher if you joined on the website and requested a catalogue..

Hopefully the link will work now.
Already signed first thing this morning.
There's one going around at the moment begging Scotland to take the North of England with us if we ever go independent. It's got a fair old whack of signatures too.
And us nasty nasty scots are saying "Aye, on ye come"0 -

and that is why we glitch!
Am I being thick... but I just cannot get my head around this (no comment.. I am a muggle at the moment!).
One of my closest friends is pregnant with her first child, and is also planning a wedding for next summer... but she is totally skint!
I keep thinking about gifts that I could do that would make a difference to her... my ideas so far are... significant amount of nappies (so she should not have to buy many!), trying to 'purchase' the wine for the reception as a wedding gift, or IOU for proper shoes for the bairn until he/she is 10 (I have a hatred for shoes that are not fitted properly).
I may need FC and DM help with the wine... I am not very knowledgeable with wine... prefer a cuppa!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
I'm behind the sofa, chuck me a Jaffa cake.:p0 -

No, not sure if this is that she thinks she is a little too posh or just too busy, she is still working full time with a round trip of 120 miles a day so she is exhausted. When she stops working, I am going to visit her and get her set up, whether she likes it or not!100 -

I don't think Scots dislike England, or visa versa.
I think the UK dislikes politicians, the banks etc.
I would definitely vote for a free Yorkshire!!100
