Am I a first time buyer

I have been married for two years however my other half owned the house before I moved in and has done so for 10 years. I have not had my name on the mortgage in any way. We would like to buy a new home where we can be equal on the mortgage.
As I have never had anything to do with this house, other than being married to the owner and living in it would I be classed as a first time buyer? We have always kept our finances separate and I just pay so much per month towards all bills accept the mortgage and buildings insurance. I have just found out about the help to buy isa which would significantly boost my share in the house when we buy together. Would I be considered a first time buyer? My name has never been on any mortgage.
Thanks
