Full application with broker

Options
Hello again..

I met a broker last week who went through all my details, income and outgoings etc and took id, and last week got a DIP .

He wants to meet me again to do the full application. WHat is the difference between this meeting and the initial one?

He advised this request by email and I have asked him this question direct but not had a response.

Thanks in advance

Probably just to pick up any other docs. You say he has ID but what about payslips, bank statements, P60, etc.

Theres likely to be a bit more info like about the property.

Having said that, no reason why you cant send him everything outstanding and answer any questions over the phone.

  • Thank you.

Do we decide on the product at this point?

I'm sure your selection of the product would be a factor of the second meeting.

We stopped having 'meetings' ten years ago - we do not find them necessary.

    Each to his own.

final product recomendation can be done over the phone too.

Have you tried telling him meeting up again is inconvenient and you just want to finish up quickly with a phone chat and will send him what he needs?

He can be thorough, but you are the client.

  • That's a good point....

He's only met myself and not the other applicant. Would this make a difference?

I do 2nd appointments on about 50% of my cases.
Chances are you will be done and dusted in 30-40 minutes. It just allows him to go through the KFI (quote) with you ensure everything is explained properly and get the documents completed/signed etc.

You do not need to do it face to face but I dont see it as a bad thing.

We have never met our broker. Husband has had a few phonecalls and several emails and documents/payslips have all been scanned in and emailed/faxed.

Broker submitted the full application 2 weeks ago and we our offer is in the post I believe!

Our broker gave us the best suited mortgages to us, all by email, and we told him our chosen one.

I would tell ask the broker if you can just send over what he needs/email/chat etc
