Hi
We are looking to move to a new area next year. We will sell this house and want to port our £25.000 mortgage onto the new property. I will need to find a job in new area once there.
How does one go about sorting out the mortgage re proof of income?
Do they base it on my present job or will I need to have a job offer in new area. Currently with Santander variable rate mortgage
Thankyou

Find the job first. Of if you've the savings. Pay off the mortgage.

No JOB= NO INCOME, NO INCOME = NO MORTGAGE
    Simple really
Now you are on the SVR which means no ERC,s when you sell GOOD
You only owe £25,000 so not a huge mortgage which is on a poor rate SVR 4,74% ? so why do you want to port it?
Better paying off the mortgage when you sell and with deposit you have left from sale of property you can get a new mortgage at a better rate when you get a job and find a property you like

If you can overpay mortgage now as you will not earn 4.74% from savings
