What's wrong with my steam cleaner?

I have the Morphy Richards 9 in 1, had it about six months. It's not working properly, steam only comes out of it for so long and then it stops and just makes a noise. I find it such hard work. I loved it when I first got it but now I find it tiring trying to get it to work and putting on the attachments and trying to drag it round the floor when it won't produce steam. I feel like giving up on it. Am I doing something wrong?

I think they bung up with limescale. My hand held one did but my Morphy Richards 9 in 1 seems to be holding out.

You may have harder water than your friend. Run some white vinegar or citric acid through it; if it is limescale that should sort it; if not, the thermostat or element could have gone and MR should replace it under warranty.
  • Ive got one of these and it says in the instructions if you don't use deiodinised water then you invalidate the guarantee

My H20steam cleaner did the same.Hubby took it all apart and it wasnt scaled up the pump was working but no steam coming out. Called up Tescos and they picked it up the next day and dropped off another one. I had only had it for 2 months.
