Parking tickets?

My wife received a parking ticket within a private car park.
Because she did not pay within a certain time limit, they have sent out further letters demanding that she pays extra.
The initial figure was an extortionate £70. The new figure has come to £150 and unless it is dealt with, sets to rise further.
They claim that the costs are for administrative charges. Sound familiar? Can they get away with admin charges for £25 per letter? What should I do?

Check out the original ticket.....the 2 times I've been done the ticket was for £45 but discounted to £25 for paying within 14 days....sorry, but it's a steep learning curve.0

AFAIK, you can't legally be forced to pay this.
If it is for a private car park, write back to them telling them that you are the owner of the car but do not know who was driving the car at the time. Tell them that they need to contact the person who was driving the car at the time. There is no legal requirement for you to tell them who was driving at the time. They might threaten you with court, but won't take you there as they will know they don't have a chance of winning (they hope to just scare people into paying).0
