Notice Period

Been offered a new job  so obviously need to hand my resignation in.

My contract says that under 12 months employment I only need to give 1 week's notice but after 12 months, its a month's notice.

What happens if I give my notice, before the 12 months are up (so I only have to give a week) but the 12 month anniversary is passed during the week?

If you give notice before the 12-month anniversary is reached, you give the notice due - one week. It does not matter that the anniversary is reached during the notice period. What is important is the date you actually give notice.
  • Thanks very much for that General.

So I never have to see my boss again :)

So I never have to see my boss again :)

This made me smile because that's exactly how I felt when I realised my boss wouldn't be in for my last 2 days :)

Lots of best wishes for your new job x
